The rest of the trip

We really had a great trip. I got to explore 4 new states! Some of the things we saw along the way were St.Augustine FL, Savannah GA, Charleston SC (on the boat ride out to Fort Sumter we got to see dolphins!), and Plains GA.

More fun on the Florida Panhandle....

I had so much fun with Grammers and Great! They are so cool. Great Grandma Thompson had all sorts of things to get into and I especially liked when she gave me a ride on her walker. I also got to meet my great uncle Steve and great aunt Liz.

Day on the Beach

This was our first day in Florida and I really wanted to go to the beach. It was so much fun! I liked to pretend not to like it when the water splashed over my feet, but then I would run back to the water. It was so great!

Breaking News!

I learned to crawl today! Video to come as soon as Dad figures out how to upload video onto my blog. Until then, I'm going to play with some of my toys from Christmas.

New Year's Eve

My cousin Tallie turned two on New Year's Eve. I went to her birthday party where we had cupcakes. Happy Birthday Tallie!

Christmas with the Lenz's

On Christmas Day, we went to my Grandpa and Grandma Lenz's house in Alexandria. The whole family was there. I spent most of the day playing with my Grandma and many cousins.

I spent Christmas Eve with my Grandpa and Grandma Thompson. As you can see, there were lots of presents.

Christmas in Chicago

This being my first Christmas and all, I got to open presents three times! Before we left for Minnesota, I opened presents in Chicago with Mom and Dad.

I got lots of great presents!

Uncle Rob from California was there too.

Unfortunately, Mom and Dad had to go and try to ruin things by insisting that we take a family picture.

Little Gym

Mom takes me to the Little Gym every week so I can get some exercise. It is lots of fun to play on the mats and in the tunnels.

Welcome to our blog!

Maddie and Jay are fast asleep, and instead of going through all the work of getting them to bed again I just decided to let them sleep and write this blog update myself.

Well, it's been a while since I've updated the blog. I guess I've been quite busy trying to maintain order in this house. Life is good, and the kids are both amazing! Maddie is well beyond her years. Some of her vocabulary is unreal and she is quick as a whip. Remembers everything, which makes me have to be very careful what I say. She enjoys all sorts of pretend games. Lately she has been pretending to pack up and fly to Minnesota. She loves wearing my shoes, and basically doing everything I do, especially when it comes to things with Jay. She has her own "babies", which are Jay's stuffed animals. They are all her sons. She is very good about putting her babies down for naps, feeding them, pumping milk and rocking them. She even tells me to be quiet when any of them are sleeping. She likes to steal toys from the real baby in the house to give to her babies, which I am trying to teach her is not nice.

Jay is a wonderful little 6 month old bundle of joy! The kid is the most smiley, giggley baby ever. Even when he wakes up from his naps, he sees me and grins. He likes to be tickled, play peek a boo, blow bubbles and play with toys when his sister lets him. He thinks she is the funniest, best thing ever. He always watches her and is so interested in her. He rolls over and is close to sitting up on his own. He just started eating rice cereal which he seems to enjoy. He just had his 6 month check up and is the height of an average 10 month old. He is a solid little guy, and he doesn't fit into his clothes for very long stretches.

Seeing Maddie and Jay together is so fun. Maddie adores Jay now. She wants to make sure I don't forget him and that he is always coming with us when we leave the house. If he ever fusses she says "I"m comin' Jay" and runs to him. Although I can't remember ever feeling this tired, my days fly by and I have the best time with these two. I'm not sure how Joe and I got such cute kids, but I know how lucky we are to have them.
